Responsibility
- Collect, process, and analyze geospatial data related to plantation and mill operations using GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS).
- Develop and maintain digital maps, land-use classifications, and spatial databases to support strategic planning.
- Conduct terrain and soil analysis to optimize planting patterns, irrigation, and harvest scheduling.
- Monitor and report on environmental compliance (e.g., deforestation risks, biodiversity conservation) using satellite imagery and drone data.
- Collaborate with agronomists and field teams to integrate GIS insights into crop health monitoring and pest/disease management.
- Generate customized GIS reports and visualizations for stakeholders to aid in decision-making.
- Train and support staff on GIS tools and best practices for field data collection.
- Stay updated on emerging GIS technologies and industry trends in precision agriculture.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Geomatics, Environmental Science, Agriculture, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in GIS applications, preferably in agriculture, forestry, or natural resource management.
- Proficiency in GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS, ENVI) and remote sensing tools.
- Strong knowledge of spatial data formats (Shapefiles, GeoJSON, KML) and database management (PostgreSQL/PostGIS).
- Experience with Python, R, or SQL for geospatial data analysis is a plus.
- Familiarity with drone/UAV data processing and satellite imagery interpretation.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Willingness to travel to field sites in Bali and other operational areas as needed.
