As a General Ledger Accountant, you will be responsible for month-end close activities, journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting. Responsibility
- Prepare, review, and post accurate and timely journal entries to the general ledger.
- Perform month-end and year-end close activities, including account reconciliations and financial statement preparation.
- Ensure compliance with IBMâs financial policies, GAAP, and local regulatory requirements.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for process improvements.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors to provide necessary documentation and support during audits.
- Maintain and reconcile intercompany transactions to ensure accuracy and consistency across entities.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports for management, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
- Support ad-hoc financial projects and initiatives as assigned by the Finance leadership team.
Qualifications
- Bachelorâs degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification is a plus.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in general ledger accounting or financial reporting.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros).
- Strong understanding of GAAP, IFRS, and local accounting standards.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, global environment.
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Experience with financial audits and compliance requirements is highly desirable.
