Responsibility
- Edit and proofread marketing and communications content to ensure grammatical accuracy, clarity, and brand consistency.
- Collaborate with creative teams, including writers, designers, and account managers, to refine content for various platforms.
- Adhere to style guides and client-specific tone-of-voice requirements while maintaining high editorial standards.
- Review and optimize content for SEO, ensuring it aligns with best practices and client objectives.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting tight deadlines without compromising quality.
- Provide constructive feedback to writers and stakeholders to enhance content effectiveness.
- Stay updated on industry trends, language evolution, and emerging editorial tools.
- Assist in localizing content for international audiences while preserving the original intent.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
- Proven experience (3+ years) as a copy editor, sub-editor, or similar role, preferably in marketing or advertising.
- Exceptional command of the English language, with impeccable grammar, spelling, and punctuation skills.
- Familiarity with style guides (e.g., AP, Chicago) and ability to adapt to client-specific guidelines.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to spot inconsistencies in tone, style, and messaging.
- Experience with SEO principles and content optimization techniques.
- Proficiency in using editorial tools (e.g., Grammarly, Hemingway) and CMS platforms.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, on-site freelance environment.
