Responsibility
- Prepare and bake a wide variety of artisanal bread, including sourdough, baguettes, whole grain, and specialty loaves, ensuring consistent quality and texture.
- Produce high-quality pastries, such as croissants, danishes, and puff pastries, following precise recipes and techniques.
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety and hygiene standards, including proper storage, handling, and sanitation practices.
- Monitor and adjust baking times and temperatures to achieve optimal results for different products.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to develop new recipes and seasonal offerings that align with customer preferences and market trends.
- Manage inventory of ingredients, ensuring freshness and minimizing waste through efficient usage and rotation.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior bakers or apprentices to uphold the bakery’s standards of excellence.
- Ensure all baked goods are presented attractively and meet the bakery’s aesthetic and quality standards before display.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience as a Bread Baker or Pastry Chef in a commercial bakery or high-volume kitchen.
- Proven expertise in baking artisanal bread, including sourdough, baguettes, and whole grain varieties.
- Strong knowledge of pastry techniques, including lamination, dough handling, and proofing processes.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in a bakery environment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and consistency.
- Creative mindset with a passion for developing new recipes and improving existing ones.
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods, lift heavy bags of flour (up to 25 kg), and work in a hot kitchen environment.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team setting.
