Responsibility
- Prepare and serve a variety of specialty coffee drinks, including espresso, pour-over, and cold brew, adhering to standardized recipes and presentation.
- Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and other café equipment to ensure optimal performance and hygiene.
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting guests warmly, taking orders accurately, and addressing inquiries or concerns professionally.
- Manage cash handling and POS transactions with precision, including processing payments and balancing the register at the end of shifts.
- Restock and organize supplies, ingredients, and merchandise to maintain a clean, efficient, and visually appealing workspace.
- Collaborate with the team to uphold café standards, including cleanliness, speed of service, and adherence to food safety protocols.
- Assist in training new staff on coffee preparation techniques, customer service best practices, and café operations.
- Stay updated on coffee trends, brewing methods, and menu offerings to provide informed recommendations to customers.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Barista in a high-volume café or similar hospitality setting (minimum 1-2 years preferred).
- In-depth knowledge of coffee beans, roasting profiles, and brewing techniques (e.g., V60, AeroPress, French Press).
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining efficiency and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with a diverse, international customer base.
- Strong time management and multitasking abilities to handle peak hours and multiple orders simultaneously.
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including early mornings, weekends, and public holidays.
- Certification in food safety and hygiene (or willingness to obtain one).
