Responsibility
- Monitor and maintain critical data center infrastructure, including power systems, cooling, HVAC, UPS, generators, and fire suppression systems.
- Perform regular inspections, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting to ensure 99.99% uptime and compliance with industry standards (e.g., TIA-942, ISO 27001).
- Manage and optimize energy efficiency, reducing PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness) through innovative solutions and best practices.
- Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal teams for installations, upgrades, and emergency repairs.
- Develop and implement SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) for facility operations, including disaster recovery and failover protocols.
- Conduct capacity planning and scalability assessments to support business growth and new technology deployments.
- Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance (e.g., OSHA, local building codes).
- Document all maintenance activities, incidents, and resolutions in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field; certifications in data center operations (e.g., CDCP, CFOT, Uptime Institute) are a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in data center facility management, critical infrastructure, or similar roles.
- In-depth knowledge of power distribution (PDUs, switchgear), cooling systems (CRAC/CRAH, chillers), and backup power (UPS, diesel generators).
- Hands-on experience with BMS (Building Management Systems), SCADA, and DCIM (Data Center Infrastructure Management) tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues under pressure.
- Familiarity with ITIL, ISO 20000, or LEED certification for sustainable data center practices.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Willingness to work in shift rotations and be on-call for emergencies as needed.
