Responsibility
- Monitor, operate, and maintain electrical systems, including power distribution units (PDUs), switchgear, transformers, and UPS systems to ensure 100% uptime.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on critical electrical infrastructure, adhering to Googleâs safety and compliance standards.
- Troubleshoot electrical faults, analyze root causes, and implement solutions to minimize downtime and improve system reliability.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to design, test, and deploy electrical upgrades or modifications to support data center expansion.
- Conduct regular inspections, testing, and documentation of electrical equipment to ensure compliance with local regulations and Googleâs internal policies.
- Respond to emergency situations, such as power outages or equipment failures, with rapid and effective resolution.
- Assist in energy efficiency initiatives by optimizing electrical load balancing and identifying opportunities for sustainability improvements.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inventory, and system performance metrics using Googleâs internal tools.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelorâs degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or a related field, with a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in industrial or data center electrical systems.
- Proven expertise in high-voltage and low-voltage electrical systems, including switchgear, transformers, generators, and UPS.
- Strong knowledge of electrical safety protocols, including NFPA 70E, arc flash safety, and lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs, predictive maintenance tools, and electrical testing equipment (e.g., megohmmeters, power analyzers).
- Familiarity with data center infrastructure, including cooling systems, fire suppression, and building management systems (BMS), is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Certifications such as Certified Electrical Technician (CET) or equivalent are highly desirable.
- Fluency in English (written and verbal) and the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
