Responsibility
- Prepare and submit accurate customs declarations for imports and exports in compliance with local and international regulations.
- Classify goods using the Harmonized System (HS) codes and ensure proper tariff applications.
- Calculate duties, taxes, and fees, verifying accuracy to avoid discrepancies or delays.
- Maintain and organize customs documentation, including invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin.
- Liaise with customs authorities, freight forwarders, and internal teams to resolve any issues or discrepancies.
- Monitor changes in customs regulations and update internal processes accordingly.
- Assist in audits and inspections by providing necessary documentation and support.
- Collaborate with logistics and supply chain teams to ensure timely clearance of shipments.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, or a related field.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in customs declarations, freight forwarding, or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of HS code classification and customs regulations.
- Proficiency in customs software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with stakeholders.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with ASEAN trade agreements and Incoterms is a plus.
