Responsibility
- Manage and oversee the product costing process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Analyze cost variances and provide detailed reports to management, highlighting areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and profitability.
- Collaborate with inventory and production teams to optimize inventory levels and reduce carrying costs.
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual cost reports to senior management.
- Conduct regular audits of cost accounting processes to ensure data integrity and compliance.
- Provide training and guidance to junior accounting staff on cost accounting principles and best practices.
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities by providing accurate cost data and analysis.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in cost accounting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, financial reporting, and inventory management.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments.
- Experience in the food manufacturing industry is highly desirable.
