Responsibility
- Plan, prepare, and serve nutritious and appetizing meals for the crew, adhering to dietary requirements and preferences.
- Manage the galley operations, including inventory control, food storage, and kitchen equipment maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards in accordance with maritime regulations.
- Supervise and train galley staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
- Monitor food supplies and place orders to maintain adequate stock levels.
- Maintain accurate records of food consumption, inventory, and expenditures.
- Adapt meal plans to accommodate cultural diversity and special dietary needs.
- Collaborate with the vessel's management to ensure smooth operations and crew satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Chief Cook or similar role in the maritime industry.
- Certification in culinary arts or related field is preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations, including HACCP standards.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical fitness and ability to handle the demands of life at sea.
- Valid maritime medical certificate and STCW certification.
