Responsibility

  • Prepare and present high-quality pastry items, including desserts, bread, and confections, in accordance with Marriott’s standards and recipes.
  • Assist in menu development and contribute creative ideas for seasonal and special event pastry offerings.
  • Ensure all pastry stations are fully stocked, organized, and maintained to meet health and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Pastry Chef and culinary team to execute daily operations and special projects.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies to minimize waste and control costs.
  • Train and mentor junior pastry staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and teamwork.
  • Adhere to food safety, sanitation, and hygiene protocols at all times.
  • Participate in daily pre-service meetings and contribute to improving operational efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a Pastry Chef or Chef de Partie in a high-volume, luxury hotel or fine-dining restaurant.
  • Formal culinary education (e.g., diploma in pastry arts) or equivalent experience.
  • Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredient properties, and pastry trends.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to lead and inspire others.
  • Familiarity with HACCP, food safety regulations, and allergy-aware cooking practices.
  • Creative mindset with a passion for innovation in pastry design and presentation.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
