Responsibility
- Develop detailed CAD drawings (2D and 3D) for rigging systems, structural steel frameworks, and architectural metalwork components.
- Interpret and translate engineering specifications, blueprints, and sketches into accurate technical drawings.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project managers to ensure designs meet structural, safety, and aesthetic requirements.
- Review and validate drawings for compliance with industry standards (e.g., AS/NZS, AISC) and client specifications.
- Modify and update existing drawings based on field feedback or design changes.
- Utilize AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Revit to create and optimize models for fabrication and installation.
- Maintain organized file management systems for version control and easy retrieval of project documents.
- Provide technical support to fabrication teams by clarifying drawing details and dimensions.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelorâs degree in Drafting, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in CAD drafting, with a focus on structural steel, rigging, or architectural metalwork.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (mandatory), with experience in SolidWorks, Revit, or Inventor considered a plus.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and industry standards.
- Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, schematics, and technical documents.
- Excellent attention to detail and spatial reasoning skills.
- Familiarity with Australian construction standards (AS/NZS) is highly advantageous.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively in a remote setting.
