As a Breast Imaging Typist, you will ensure the seamless transcription, preparation, and organization of breast imaging diagnostic reports, contributing to timely patient care and clinical decision-making. Responsibility
- Accurately transcribe breast imaging diagnostic reports, including mammograms, ultrasounds, and MRIs, from radiologistsā dictations.
- Prepare, edit, and format medical reports to ensure clarity, completeness, and compliance with healthcare standards.
- Enter and organize patient data and imaging results into electronic health records (EHR) systems with precision.
- Collaborate with radiologists, technicians, and administrative staff to verify report accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA and local data protection regulations.
- Manage and prioritize transcription tasks to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced outpatient setting.
- Review and proofread transcribed reports for grammatical, typographical, and medical terminology errors.
- Stay updated on medical terminology, breast imaging procedures, and transcription best practices.
Qualifications
- Minimum Diploma or Bachelorās degree in Medical Transcription, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience (1-3 years) in medical transcription, preferably in radiology or breast imaging.
- Proficiency in medical terminology, especially related to oncology and diagnostic imaging.
- Excellent typing speed (minimum 60 WPM) with high accuracy and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner) and transcription software.
- Strong command of English (written and verbal) with the ability to interpret and transcribe complex medical language.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet strict deadlines.
- Certification in Medical Transcription (e.g., AHDIās RHDS or CHDS) is a plus.
