Responsibility
- Oversee daily operations of the bookshop, including opening and closing procedures.
- Lead and manage a team of sales associates, providing training and support to ensure high performance.
- Ensure exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere.
- Monitor inventory levels, place orders, and manage stock to meet customer demand.
- Implement sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and promote new releases and bestsellers.
- Maintain the visual appeal of the bookshop, including displays, signage, and overall cleanliness.
- Handle cash management, including daily sales reconciliation and deposit preparation.
- Collaborate with the management team to develop and execute marketing initiatives and community events.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a supervisory or managerial role within a retail environment, preferably in a bookshop or similar setting.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire staff.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-centric approach.
- Basic knowledge of inventory management and point-of-sale systems.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required.
- Passion for books and literature, with a keen interest in staying updated on industry trends.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to handle challenging situations with professionalism.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in retail management is a plus.
