Responsibility
- Oversee daily operations of the Bed Management Unit to ensure optimal patient flow and bed utilization across hospital departments
- Develop and implement strategies to reduce patient wait times and improve bed turnover efficiency
- Collaborate with medical, nursing, and administrative teams to coordinate patient admissions, transfers, and discharges
- Monitor and analyze bed management metrics, generating reports to identify trends and improvement opportunities
- Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and patient satisfaction
- Manage crisis situations during peak demand periods, ensuring equitable bed allocation
- Train and supervise junior staff in bed management protocols and hospital information systems
- Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations and hospital policies regarding patient placement and resource allocation
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing, or related field (Master’s preferred)
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in hospital operations, bed management, or healthcare resource planning
- Proven leadership experience in a healthcare setting with demonstrated ability to manage teams
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in healthcare data analysis and reporting tools
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with diverse stakeholders
- Knowledge of hospital information systems (HIS) and electronic medical records (EMR)
- Certification in Healthcare Quality or Lean/Six Sigma is a plus
- Ability to work in fast-paced environments and handle multiple priorities simultaneously
