Responsibility
- Provide Level 2/3 application support for IBM System i (AS/400) environments, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to RPG IV, CL programs, and DB2/400 databases.
- Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to implement system enhancements and patches.
- Monitor system logs, job queues, and performance metrics to proactively identify and address potential issues.
- Document technical procedures, incident reports, and knowledge base articles for future reference.
- Assist in data migration, system upgrades, and disaster recovery planning for IBM iSeries platforms.
- Work closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Stay updated with IBM iSeries best practices and emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in IBM System i (AS/400) application support or development.
- Proficiency in RPG IV, RPGLE, CL programming, and DB2/400.
- Hands-on experience with IBM iSeries administration, job scheduling, and system monitoring tools.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to debug complex technical issues under pressure.
- Familiarity with SQL, stored procedures, and data integration in an IBM i environment.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Certifications such as IBM Certified System Administrator β IBM i are a plus.
