Responsibility
- Supervise and manage the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, including billing, receivables, disbursements, and financial reporting.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with local and international accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.
- Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations to drive team success.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline financial processes, improve efficiency, and support business objectives.
- Monitor cash flow, manage bank reconciliations, and oversee the preparation of tax filings and audits.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance financial controls, reduce risks, and optimize operational performance.
- Act as a key liaison with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and transparency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance (e.g., IFRS, GAAP).
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a track record of mentoring and developing accounting teams.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience working in a multinational or maritime industry is an advantage but not required.
