Responsibility
- Design, configure, and deploy Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) systems for the Penang Mutiara Line, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
- Collaborate with software developers, hardware engineers, and project managers to integrate ticketing systems with existing transit infrastructure.
- Conduct system testing, validation, and troubleshooting to ensure seamless functionality and minimal downtime.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system architectures, user manuals, and operational guidelines.
- Provide technical support and training to end-users, including transit operators and maintenance teams.
- Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations to enhance efficiency and scalability.
- Ensure data security and compliance with payment processing regulations (e.g., PCI-DSS).
- Participate in project meetings, stakeholder reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in ticketing systems, fare collection, or related transit technologies.
- Proficiency in system integration, embedded systems, and payment processing protocols.
- Hands-on experience with SQL, scripting languages (Python, Bash), and network configurations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose complex technical issues under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with ISO standards, PCI compliance, and cybersecurity best practices.
- Willingness to travel to project sites in Penang as required.
