Responsibility

  • Prepare and meticulously review Form 990, 990-EZ, and 990-PF for various 501(c)(3) and other tax-exempt organizations.
  • Perform accurate data entry, reconciliation, and analysis of financial information to support tax filings.
  • Conduct research on complex US nonprofit tax issues and assist in interpreting IRS regulations.
  • Assist in the preparation of tax workpapers, schedules, and other supporting documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with senior associates and managers regarding project status, deadlines, and potential issues.
  • Stay abreast of updates and changes in federal tax laws impacting tax-exempt organizations.
  • Ensure strict adherence to quality standards and internal processes for all tax engagements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of progressive experience in tax preparation, with demonstrable exposure to US tax laws or nonprofit entities.
  • Solid understanding of Form 990 series for tax-exempt organizations.
  • Proficiency in tax preparation software (e.g., UltraTax, CCH Axcess) and strong command of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Exceptional analytical skills and a meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • CPA licensure or active pursuit of CPA certification is a significant advantage.
