Responsibility
- Conduct thorough on-site inspections of steel structure welding, bolting, and fabrication to ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards (AWS, ISO), and local regulations.
- Develop and implement QA/QC plans, inspection test plans (ITP), and checklists tailored to steel structure projects.
- Perform non-destructive testing (NDT) such as visual testing (VT), ultrasonic testing (UT), and magnetic particle testing (MPT) as required.
- Document and report inspection findings, non-conformities, and corrective actions, ensuring timely resolution of quality issues.
- Coordinate with main contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to verify material certifications, welding procedures (WPS/PQR), and welder qualifications.
- Oversee the handover process, ensuring all QA/QC documentation is complete, accurate, and submitted to stakeholders.
- Resolve technical disputes related to quality, providing expert recommendations and solutions to maintain project timelines.
- Train and mentor site personnel on QA/QC best practices, safety protocols, and quality control measures for steel structures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in QA/QC for steel structures, with a strong background in welding inspection (CWI or CSWIP certification preferred).
- In-depth knowledge of steel fabrication, welding techniques, and NDT methods (VT, UT, MPT, RT).
- Familiarity with international standards such as AWS D1.1, ISO 3834, EN 1090, and local Indonesian construction regulations.
- Proven ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, WPS/PQR documents, and material specifications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with stakeholders, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make critical decisions under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel to project sites across Bali and adhere to strict safety and quality protocols.
