Responsibility
- Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans for textile raw materials, ensuring alignment with production demands and cost targets.
- Negotiate contracts with local and international suppliers to secure favorable terms, pricing, and delivery schedules.
- Manage import processes, including customs clearance, documentation, and compliance with Indonesian and international trade regulations.
- Monitor market trends in textile materials and recommend cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
- Collaborate with production, logistics, and finance teams to forecast material requirements and optimize inventory levels.
- Evaluate and onboard new suppliers, conducting due diligence assessments for reliability, quality, and ethical sourcing practices.
- Prepare and present procurement reports to senior management, highlighting key metrics, risks, and improvement areas.
- Resolve supplier disputes and delivery issues proactively to minimize production delays.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; a focus on textiles is a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in purchasing, with at least 2 years in the textile industry.
- Proven expertise in import procedures, tariffs, and trade compliance for Indonesia.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills with a track record of cost reduction achievements.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent communication skills in English and Indonesian, with the ability to liaise with global suppliers.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret market data, cost structures, and supply chain risks.
- Familiarity with sustainable and ethical sourcing practices is highly desirable.
