Responsibility
- Lead and manage mechanical engineering projects for ship repairs, including hull, propulsion, and auxiliary systems.
- Oversee site operations, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and timeline requirements.
- Develop and implement technical solutions for complex mechanical issues in marine vessels.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan, execute, and monitor repair and maintenance projects.
- Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and cost estimations for engineering proposals.
- Ensure compliance with international maritime regulations (e.g., SOLAS, MARPOL) and industry standards.
- Prepare and review technical drawings, schematics, and documentation for ship repair projects.
- Mentor junior engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
Qualifications
- Bachelorâs degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or a related field; Masterâs degree is a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in ship repair, marine engineering, or mechanical systems in the maritime industry.
- Proven track record in project management, site supervision, and technical problem-solving.
- Strong knowledge of maritime regulations, classification society rules (e.g., ABS, DNV, Lloydâs Register), and industry best practices.
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks), project management tools, and MS Office Suite.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and teamwork skills to liaise with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to work in fast-paced, high-pressure environments with a focus on safety and efficiency.
- Certifications in maritime safety (e.g., STCW, OSHA) or engineering (e.g., PMP, PE) are highly advantageous.
