Responsibility

  • Manage the end-to-end tax compliance process for the group, including corporate tax, withholding tax, and indirect tax.
  • Prepare and review tax computations for various business units to ensure accuracy and timely submission to the Inland Revenue Board (LHDN).
  • Act as the primary point of contact during tax audits and provide comprehensive support to external auditors.
  • Stay current with changes in Malaysian tax laws, regulations, and reporting standards (MFRS/MPERS) and assess their impact on the group.
  • Assist in tax planning initiatives to improve corporate tax efficiency and minimize exposure to tax risks.
  • Liaise with internal departments to gather financial data and ensure all relevant tax documentation is maintained effectively.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly tax provision schedules for management reporting purposes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Professional qualifications like ACCA, CPA, or MICPA are highly preferred).
  • Minimum 4-6 years of experience in corporate tax, preferably with exposure to the construction or property development sectors.
  • Solid understanding of the Malaysian Income Tax Act and other statutory regulations.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in financial software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or SQL) and advanced MS Excel capabilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
  • Ability to work independently, meet tight deadlines, and manage multiple stakeholders effectively.
