Responsibility
- Develop detailed shop drawings, production drawings, and cutting lists for custom cabinetry, millwork, and furniture using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, or SolidWorks).
- Collaborate with architects, designers, and project managers to interpret and refine technical specifications and design intent.
- Ensure all drawings comply with industry standards, local building codes, and client requirements.
- Generate and maintain technical documentation, including bills of materials (BOM), assembly instructions, and installation guides.
- Review and revise drawings based on feedback from production teams, engineers, and quality control inspectors.
- Optimize designs for material efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and manufacturability without compromising quality.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to confirm material specifications, dimensions, and lead times.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new materials, and drafting technologies to enhance productivity and innovation.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3+ years of experience as a Drafter, preferably in custom cabinetry, woodworking, or furniture manufacturing.
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of technical drawing principles, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural blueprints, engineering drawings, and 3D models.
- Excellent attention to detail and spatial reasoning skills to ensure accuracy in measurements and specifications.
- Familiarity with wood types, joinery techniques, and hardware components used in high-end cabinetry.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to liaise effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Diploma or degree in Drafting, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field is a plus.
