As a Second Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the mechanical and operational integrity of our fleet, supporting mission-critical offshore projects across Indonesia.

Based in the vibrant Badung region of Bali (covering areas like Canggu, Ubud, Denpasar, Jimbaran, Nusa Dua, and Kuta), this contract position offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic maritime environment while enjoying the island’s unparalleled lifestyle. Your expertise will contribute to the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of our vessels, aligning with international maritime standards.

We are seeking a detail-oriented, technically proficient engineer with hands-on experience in marine propulsion systems, auxiliary machinery, and preventive maintenance. If you thrive in high-stakes environments and are passionate about advancing your career in the offshore sector, this role is for you.

Responsibility

  • Assist the Chief Engineer in overseeing the maintenance, repair, and operation of all mechanical and electrical systems onboard OSVs.
  • Conduct routine inspections of engines, generators, pumps, and hydraulic systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance in compliance with SOLAS, MARPOL, and class society regulations.
  • Monitor and maintain fuel, lubrication, and cooling systems to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
  • Troubleshoot technical failures and implement solutions under the supervision of senior engineering staff.
  • Maintain accurate engineering logs, maintenance records, and inventory of spare parts and consumables.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols, including fire-fighting systems, lifesaving appliances, and emergency procedures.
  • Collaborate with deck crew and other departments to support vessel operations, cargo handling, and client requirements.

Qualifications

  • STCW Certification (Mandatory) with valid Engine Department endorsements (e.g., MEOL, EOOW).
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience as a Second Engineer or Assistant Engineer on OSVs, tugs, or commercial vessels.
  • In-depth knowledge of diesel engines, propulsion systems, and auxiliary machinery (e.g., Wärtsilä, CAT, MAN).
  • Familiarity with maritime regulations (SOLAS, MARPOL, ISM Code) and classification society standards (e.g., ABS, DNV, Lloyd’s Register).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in remote offshore environments.
  • Proficiency in English (written and verbal) for effective communication with international crews and clients.
  • Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labor in confined spaces or adverse weather conditions.
  • Willingness to work on a rotational contract basis (e.g., 28/28 or 45/45 days).
