Responsibility
- Develop accurate construction drawings, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and details, using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit).
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to interpret design concepts and convert them into technical drawings.
- Ensure all drawings comply with Australian building codes, standards, and client specifications.
- Review and revise drafts based on feedback to maintain precision and quality.
- Prepare 3D models and renderings to visualize projects for client presentations.
- Organize and maintain digital drawing files, ensuring version control and easy retrieval.
- Assist in material takeoffs and cost estimations by providing detailed measurements from drawings.
- Stay updated on industry trends, software advancements, and best practices in drafting and architecture.
Qualifications
- Proven experience (2+ years) as a Draftsman, CAD Operator, or similar role in residential construction or architecture.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, or similar CAD software (certification is a plus).
- Strong understanding of building codes, construction methods, and architectural terminology (Australian standards preferred).
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to produce error-free technical drawings.
- Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal) to liaise with international teams.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting with reliable internet and a quiet workspace.
- Portfolio showcasing previous drafting projects (residential focus is advantageous).
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
