Responsibility
- Trade Lifecycle Management: Oversee the end-to-end processing of Rates products, including trade capture, confirmation, settlement, and reconciliation to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Risk & PnL Reporting: Prepare and validate daily PnL reports, risk exposures, and limit monitoring for Rates trading desks, ensuring adherence to internal and regulatory thresholds.
- Process Optimization: Identify inefficiencies in middle office workflows and implement automation or process improvements to enhance scalability and reduce operational risk.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Liaise with Front Office, Risk, Finance, and Technology teams to resolve trade discrepancies, investigate breaks, and ensure smooth trade execution.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all Rates middle office activities comply with local and international regulations (e.g., Basel III, Dodd-Frank, EMIR) and internal policies.
- System Enhancements: Partner with IT to test, validate, and deploy new systems or upgrades for trade processing, risk management, and reporting.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and develop a high-performing middle office team, fostering a culture of accountability, precision, and continuous improvement.
- Market & Product Knowledge: Stay abreast of developments in interest rate markets, new financial instruments, and industry best practices to advise on operational readiness.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelorâs degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field. Advanced degrees (MBA, CFA, FRM) or professional certifications are a plus.
- Experience: Minimum 7+ years in middle office, operations, or risk management within Rates, Fixed Income, or Derivatives at a global bank or financial institution.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in trade processing systems (e.g., Murex, Calypso, Summit), risk platforms, and Microsoft Excel (advanced functions, VBA).
- Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of financial regulations impacting Rates products (e.g., Dodd-Frank, MiFID II, Basel III).
- Analytical Abilities: Strong quantitative and problem-solving skills to investigate trade breaks, reconcile PnL, and assess risk exposures.
- Leadership: Proven ability to manage teams, prioritize tasks under pressure, and drive cross-functional initiatives.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal English skills to articulate complex concepts to stakeholders at all levels.
