Responsibility
- Develop and maintain accurate material forecasts based on production schedules, sales trends, and lead times to prevent shortages or excess inventory.
- Optimize inventory levels and storage strategies to reduce carrying costs while ensuring material availability for uninterrupted production.
- Collaborate with procurement, production, and warehouse teams to align material requirements with supplier capabilities and delivery timelines.
- Monitor and analyze production capacity, resource allocation, and workflow bottlenecks, proposing actionable improvements to enhance efficiency.
- Prepare and present detailed reports on inventory turnover, stock movements, and planning accuracy to senior management.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives to streamline planning processes.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve material discrepancies, expedite urgent orders, and mitigate supply chain risks.
- Utilize ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) to track material flows, generate purchase orders, and maintain real-time data integrity.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in production planning, inventory control, or materials management within the manufacturing sector.
- Proven ability to analyze complex data sets and derive insights using tools like Excel (advanced), Power BI, or SQL.
- Strong understanding of MRP/ERP systems and their application in production environments.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to liaise with internal teams and external suppliers.
- Familiarity with Just-in-Time (JIT) and Kanban methodologies is a plus.
- Certifications in CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional) or CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management) are advantageous.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic environment.
