As a Process Design Engineer, you will be responsible for developing technical documentation, performing complex calculations, and ensuring the efficiency and safety of hydrocarbon processing systems. Responsibility
- Develop and review technical documentation, including process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and equipment specifications.
- Perform detailed process calculations, including hydraulic analysis, heat and material balances, and pressure drop assessments.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of process designs with mechanical, electrical, and civil engineering components.
- Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to optimize process efficiency and safety.
- Provide technical support during the construction, commissioning, and startup phases of projects.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
- Utilize simulation software to model and analyze process systems for performance optimization.
- Prepare and present technical reports and recommendations to stakeholders and clients.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in process design, preferably in the oil and gas or petrochemical industry.
- Proficiency in process simulation software such as Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus, or similar tools.
- Strong understanding of industry standards (API, ASME, ISO) and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present technical information clearly.
- Experience with AutoCAD or other drafting tools for creating technical drawings.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
