As a Section Head or Manager in EPI, you will oversee the development, optimization, and implementation of high-performance epitaxial growth and thermal treatment processes. Responsibility
- Lead the design, development, and optimization of epitaxial (EPI) growth processes for semiconductor applications, ensuring high-quality material properties and device performance.
- Oversee thermal process engineering, including annealing, oxidation, and diffusion, to enhance material characteristics and process efficiency.
- Collaborate with R&D, production, and quality assurance teams to troubleshoot process issues and implement continuous improvements.
- Develop and validate new process recipes, conduct DOE (Design of Experiments), and analyze data to drive process enhancements.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., ISO, SEMATECH) and internal quality control protocols for semiconductor manufacturing.
- Mentor junior engineers and technicians, providing technical guidance and fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
- Manage equipment maintenance, calibration, and upgrades for EPI and thermal process tools to ensure optimal performance.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends in semiconductor materials and process technologies, proposing strategic initiatives to maintain competitive advantage.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Physics with a focus on semiconductor processing.
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in epitaxy (EPI) and thermal process engineering within the semiconductor or related industries.
- Proven track record in process development, optimization, and troubleshooting for MOCVD, MBE, or other EPI techniques.
- Strong expertise in thermal processes such as RTA (Rapid Thermal Annealing), furnace oxidation, and diffusion.
- Experience with metrology tools (e.g., SEM, AFM, XRD, SIMS) and data analysis software (e.g., JMP, Python, MATLAB).
- Excellent leadership and project management skills, with the ability to drive cross-functional collaboration.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies is a plus.
- Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to present technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
