Responsibility
- Assist licensed pharmacists in dispensing prescription medications accurately and efficiently.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing patient inquiries, offering guidance on over-the-counter products, and ensuring a positive experience for all visitors.
- Manage and organize pharmacy inventory, including stocking shelves, checking expiration dates, and placing orders for supplies as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of prescriptions, patient information, and transactions in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Educate patients on proper medication usage, potential side effects, and storage instructions to promote safe and effective treatment.
- Process insurance claims and handle cash transactions, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality at all times.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers, including doctors and nurses, to clarify prescription details and ensure seamless patient care.
- Adhere to all pharmacy policies, procedures, and legal requirements to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification or diploma in Pharmacy Assistance, Pharmacy Technology, or a related field is a plus.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a pharmacy, retail, or customer service role (experience in a healthcare setting is highly desirable).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, especially when handling medications and patient information.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with patients, healthcare providers, and team members.
- Basic knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology, drug classifications, and common medications.
- Proficiency in using pharmacy software, point-of-sale (POS) systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards in healthcare.
