Responsibility
- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and test scripts for banking applications, ensuring alignment with business requirements.
- Perform manual testing (functional, regression, integration, and UAT) to identify defects and verify fixes.
- Document and track defects using bug-tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla) and collaborate with developers to resolve issues.
- Conduct risk-based testing to prioritize critical functionalities in banking systems (e.g., transactions, security, compliance).
- Validate data accuracy and integrity across financial modules, including APIs and database interactions.
- Participate in requirements analysis to ensure testability and clarity of specifications.
- Generate detailed test reports and metrics to communicate quality status to stakeholders.
- Stay updated with banking industry standards (e.g., PCI-DSS, ISO 20022) and best practices in QA.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in manual testing, preferably in the banking or fintech sector.
- Strong knowledge of SDLC, STLC, and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with test management tools (e.g., TestRail, Zephyr) and defect tracking systems.
- Familiarity with SQL queries and database validation for financial applications.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, remote-friendly environment.
- Certifications such as ISTQB or banking-related QA credentials are a plus.
