Responsibility
- Lead and supervise daily clearing operations for listed derivatives, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Oversee trade confirmation, settlement, and reconciliation processes to minimize operational risks and discrepancies.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (e.g., Trading, Risk, Compliance) to streamline workflows and enhance service efficiency.
- Develop and implement best practices for clearing operations, including automation and process improvements.
- Monitor market trends, regulatory changes, and industry developments to ensure proactive adaptation of clearing procedures.
- Resolve complex operational issues and client inquiries with a focus on service excellence and risk mitigation.
- Prepare and present operational reports, KPIs, and performance metrics to senior management.
- Mentor and train team members to foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., CFA, FRM) are a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in clearing operations, derivatives, or settlement services within the financial services industry.
- Proven track record in managing teams and leading operational processes in a high-volume trading environment.
- In-depth knowledge of listed derivatives products (futures, options) and clearinghouse protocols (e.g., Bursa Malaysia, SGX, CME).
- Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks (e.g., SC, MAS, SEC) and risk management principles.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to liaise with global counterparts.
- Proficiency in clearing systems (e.g., Calypso, Murex, Summit) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and adapt to evolving market conditions.
