Responsibility
- Assist in the design and prototyping of plywood-based furniture, ensuring alignment with brand aesthetics and functional requirements.
- Collaborate with senior designers to refine product concepts, from sketching to 3D modeling (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, or Fusion 360).
- Support the production team in factory settings, gaining exposure to manufacturing processes, material selection, and quality control.
- Conduct market and trend research to inspire innovative designs and identify emerging consumer preferences.
- Prepare technical drawings and specifications for manufacturers, ensuring accuracy and feasibility.
- Participate in product testing and iteration, providing feedback to improve durability, ergonomics, and visual appeal.
- Document design processes, including mood boards, material samples, and progress reports for internal reviews.
- Contribute to sustainability initiatives by exploring eco-friendly materials and waste-reducing production techniques.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Furniture Design, or a related field.
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Rhino, or Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop).
- Strong sketching and visualization skills to communicate design ideas effectively.
- Basic understanding of material properties, especially wood, plywood, and composites, and their applications in furniture.
- Creative mindset with a problem-solving approach and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to feedback.
- Familiarity with sustainable design principles is a plus.
