Responsibility
- Conduct regular inspections of fire safety equipment, including extinguishers, hoses, and alarms, to ensure operational readiness.
- Monitor and maintain fire suppression systems, ensuring compliance with local and industry safety regulations.
- Respond promptly to fire emergencies, medical incidents, and other hazardous situations within the mill premises.
- Conduct fire drills and safety training sessions for mill personnel to enhance emergency preparedness.
- Investigate fire incidents, document findings, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Collaborate with management to develop and update emergency response plans and evacuation procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, incidents, and training activities in compliance with company policies.
- Assist in the implementation of safety protocols and hazard mitigation strategies across the mill operations.
Qualifications
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent; certification in fire safety or industrial emergency response is a plus.
- Proven experience as a fireman, safety officer, or in a related role within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong knowledge of fire safety regulations, emergency response procedures, and hazard mitigation techniques.
- Ability to remain calm and decisive in high-pressure situations, with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Physical fitness and the ability to perform strenuous tasks, including lifting, climbing, and operating fire suppression equipment.
- Effective communication skills to conduct training sessions and coordinate with team members during emergencies.
- Willingness to work in shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required by operational needs.
