Responsibility
- Verify and process outgoing payments in compliance with SBS Transit’s financial policies and procedures.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies to ensure accurate and timely payments.
- Maintain and update the accounts payable ledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately.
- Collaborate with internal departments to obtain necessary approvals and documentation for payments.
- Monitor payment terms and ensure adherence to contractual obligations with vendors.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities related to accounts payable.
- Prepare and analyze reports on payment trends, outstanding liabilities, and cash flow projections.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in the accounts payable function.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounts payable or a similar finance role.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of financial regulations, compliance, and internal controls.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills to liaise with vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a collaborative environment.
- Certification in accounting (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is a plus but not required.
