Responsibility
- Develop and execute a country-specific growth strategy for Malaysia, aligning with global business objectives and local market demands.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including merchants, financial institutions, regulators, and partners.
- Lead a high-performing local team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation.
- Drive revenue growth by identifying and capitalizing on new business opportunities in the Malaysian market.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and industry standards, mitigating risks while optimizing operational efficiency.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer feedback to refine product offerings and service delivery.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and media engagements to enhance brand visibility.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Tech, Legal, Marketing) to localize solutions and address market-specific needs.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in business development, sales, or country management within the fintech, payments, or e-commerce sectors.
- Proven track record of scaling operations in Southeast Asia, with deep knowledge of the Malaysian market (regulatory, cultural, and commercial landscape).
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience building and mentoring high-performing teams.
- Exceptional negotiation and stakeholder management abilities, with a network of contacts in the region.
- Fluency in English (Mandarin or Malay is a plus).
- Data-driven mindset with proficiency in analyzing market data to inform strategic decisions.
- Entrepreneurial spirit with a results-oriented approach and a willingness to work in a fast-paced, remote environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field; MBA is a plus.
