Responsibility
- Prepare and bake a variety of breads, pastries, cakes, and desserts to the highest standards of quality and presentation.
- Assist in menu development, incorporating seasonal and local ingredients to create innovative baked goods.
- Monitor inventory levels of baking supplies and ingredients, ensuring timely restocking and minimal waste.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic bakery station in compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Collaborate with the Head Baker and Pastry Chef to plan daily production schedules and meet service demands.
- Train and mentor junior bakers and kitchen staff, sharing techniques and best practices.
- Ensure consistent portion control and cost management to align with budgetary goals.
- Participate in special events, buffets, and custom orders, delivering exceptional products tailored to guest requests.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Baker or Chef de Partie in a high-volume kitchen, hotel, or fine-dining establishment.
- Proven expertise in artisanal bread-making, pastry techniques, and dessert preparation.
- Strong knowledge of food safety, HACCP standards, and kitchen hygiene practices.
- Creative mindset with the ability to develop and refine recipes.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Fluency in English; additional language skills (e.g., Indonesian) are a plus.
- Certification in culinary arts, baking, or pastry (e.g., from a recognized culinary school) is highly desirable.
