Responsibility
- Manage the end-to-end process of third-party asset clearance, including music, images, videos, and other copyrighted materials.
- Collaborate with legal, creative, and production teams to ensure all third-party content complies with contractual and licensing agreements.
- Develop and maintain a centralized tracking system for third-party assets, including usage rights, expiration dates, and renewal requirements.
- Negotiate and draft licensing agreements with content owners, vendors, and partners to secure necessary permissions.
- Conduct risk assessments on third-party content to mitigate potential legal or brand reputation issues.
- Provide guidance and training to internal teams on best practices for third-party asset usage and compliance.
- Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes affecting content rights and adapt processes accordingly.
- Prepare and present reports and documentation for stakeholders, summarizing asset status, risks, and recommendations.
Qualifications
- Bachelorâs degree in Business, Law, Media Studies, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in IP law are a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in business affairs, rights management, or a similar role within the media, advertising, or entertainment industries.
- Proven track record of managing third-party content clearance for large-scale projects.
- Strong understanding of copyright law, licensing agreements, and intellectual property rights.
- Exceptional negotiation and contract drafting skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, with the confidence to liaise with legal teams, clients, and vendors.
- Proficiency in asset management systems and tools (e.g., Rightsline, FileMaker, or similar).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while maintaining accuracy and compliance.
