Responsibility
- Install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems on passenger vessels and other ship types
- Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal system performance
- Troubleshoot and resolve AC system malfunctions in compliance with SOLAS and MARPOL regulations
- Monitor refrigerant levels and ensure proper handling according to environmental standards
- Collaborate with the engineering team to upgrade HVAC systems for energy efficiency
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities and parts inventory
- Ensure compliance with international maritime safety and environmental protocols
- Provide emergency HVAC support during critical operations or adverse conditions
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience as an AC/HVAC Engineer, preferably in maritime or industrial settings
- Valid STCW certification and relevant maritime engineering credentials
- Proficient in reading technical diagrams and HVAC system schematics
- Strong knowledge of marine refrigeration cycles and air conditioning principles
- Ability to work in confined spaces and under physically demanding conditions
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Fluency in English (written and verbal) for international crew communication
- Willingness to travel and work on rotational assignments (typically 4-6 months onboard)
